Apple Unit Part 2

I finally have a chance to post about the fun apple activities my Firsties and I did this week. We created an apple circle map, made applesauce, celebrated Johnny Appleseed's contribution to our country with an awesome apple party...and wrote some cute apple poems. Here are some pictures of our apple activities. Enjoy! ♥

Those are such cute ideas. Sarah, over at First Grader At Last, just posted a bunch for activities for her apple unit and it makes me wish I taught a younger grade to do all those fun themed units and activities. It's not quite the same with the Revolutionary and Civil War units we have to teach!

Woo I'm doing apples this week! Between you and "First Grader at Last," I'm "borrowing" ideas left and right! We read "Ten Red Apples" and "Ten Apples up on Top." We made a chart of apple describing words. We're going to count how many seeds in one apple and glue the seeds to that little apple core cut-out. We're going to taste test (green vs red apples) and graph results. We're going to sort apples by size/color. WHEW!
